So, have you guys watch any movies lately? I made the mistake of watching Gods of Egypt, not good. Not even so bad, it's good bad. Just plain bad.

Yesterday I watched Maid in Manhattan and Ground Hog Day. I'd never seen the first one and it had been years since I'd seen the 2nd one. I enjoyed Maid in Manhattan it was very sweet, and Ralph Fiennes was so sexy in it! Plus I love Stanley Tucci so anytime I get to see him I'm happy LOL. Ground Hog Day wasn't as funny as I remembered it to be, but I still enjoyed it. I did have that weird thought though that the whole movie is nothing but 2 hours of retakes and then I thought how taxing that had to have been on the actors. Bill Murray is great though - love him too.

Recently I've also watched (or re-watched) Must Love Dogs, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Playing by Heart, Music of the Heart, A Late Quartet, Quartet, and a few others I can't recall at the moment.
But today I just watched the 1984 movie, Amadeus. That was...interesting. The acting was really good, the story was almost laughable though - they clearly took so much poetic license with the story to make the movie and it was 3 long hours. I'm glad I watched it though, but probably will never watch it again. I loved F Abraham Murray as Salieri though - his acting was really great.

So recently I've watched.
The Battle of Britain- I loved it perfect cased and amazing one liners which include- "spring chicken to shitehawke in one easy lesson". "Never fly in a straight line or you're a dead duck" "Thanks awfully old chap" "Or in other words beware of the hun in the sun" "You can teach monkey's to fly better than that"

Just finished Julie & Julia, loved Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep, but as much as I like Amy Adams, her character drove me nuts.

Re: Julie & Julia I loved that movie so much more than the book. The author of the book annoyed the crap out of me, but I liked Amy's portrayal of her much better. It's a really good movie.

But Amy portrayed her as softer and more likable (to me).

I just remembered for the Stanley Tucci fans if you haven't seen the movie The Imposters I recommend it. It's a goofball comedy and we laugh so much at it. The first several minutes are a bit slow just because of what's going on and there isn't a lot of talking at first but stick with it, it's really funny.

Watched Julie/Julia, I was not aware of the book at the time and don't know much about Julia Child as her fame never really got here to the UK I think. Apparently, I heard later on, they completely changed the Julie character from the book and from the real life Julie so as to make the character more likeable and more eventful.
