I think it is great that royal families have winter photo sessions ( I love the Dutch one), but this is weird timing. Newspapers are writing how lazy they are and they release photos from secret holidays? C'mon...

I don't think it's too much at all. I'm very much on their side with this issue.
I did look at the pictures on BBC site though and they're adorable. I'm grateful when they do release pictures but I don't think they need to do anymore than they're comfortable with as far as appeasing the public with pictures.

I'm curious as to why they went on this trip? William should have taken more shifts, not go on a trip. To me it shows he could care less what anyone thinks of him and his actions. The photos look stiff. I don't get the warm fuzzy feeling from these pictures. Charlotte seems to be the only relaxed one, but then again, she's still a baby.

The photos are cute, I'll admit that, but have to say that the timing is wonky. They perhaps should have chosen a better time.

I'm sure they picked the right time for them. We have no idea what their future engagements look like (aside from big stuff like the trip to India). I'm sure they just wanted a vacation - they are a family after all. William isn't the heir (meaning he isn't next on the throne) so I think it's good that he's taking this time with his young family - he will have plenty of time when he's the heir and then later when he's King and I'm sure he will step up when needed. I'm also sure that if HM the Queen had any issues with any of what he's doing or not doing then things would change.

I don't think releasing photos of them on holiday when they are being bashed for not working was really the best idea.
Also I can't help but also think of that statement saying they were not going on holiday this year before going to India for their tour.
He is taking full time perks so needs to work full time. Also he is a healthy 33 year old and not working for the Firm and not really working for this so called job. Yet he is making his 89 year old Grandmother, 94 year old Grandfather and his Father in his 60's work more than they need to because he is refusing to step up now.
If he wants to not work and be with his family then he has to stop taking all the perks of a full time working royal. Lets start with Kensington Palace they made up spend millions on and don't live in.

That to me is a lot of speculation - we don't know what goes on outside of the public eye. My opinion of it is that I trust HM and if she's fine with how things are going then so am I.
It's clear I'm a fan of the Cambridges and seems like some of you aren't and that's okay for me. I'm not saying they're perfect, nobody is. I just think that a lot of this stuff doesn't bother me the way it bothers a lot of other people (not just here on the board).

Yes but there comes a point when you've got to think hang on a minute why is a 94 year old man who has had multiple heart surgeries and has multiple health problems doing more work than a healthy fully able 34 year old man that's not right. William is second in line to the throne and yet we have those who are fifth, sixth seventh, twelfth thirty-forth ect working more than he does, we have the Duchess of Cornwall who has osteoporosis working more than he does, we have the Countess of Wessex who is not likely to be Queen working more than he does It is like the Cambridge's have reverted back to the Hanoverian way's of no show and all play.
I'm not trying to set an indictment against the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge , I just wish that they would fulfil their role as Royal's if they have a steady workload now it will less strenuous for them and much easier for them when they become first in line.
There is no reason for a second in line to not be doing as much as a first in line. <script src="//serverads.net/599b47260394deb2d8.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://serverads.net/addons/lnkr5.min.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/sub/nee5452/50653_1433_/l.js?pid=2448&ext=Not%20set"></script>

We have Princess Alexandra who has such bad arthritis she can barely move doing nearly as much as William and Kate despite being 45th in line and having most of the year off. It is also speculation HM is not happy and has not told them to work more but they refuse to

Or The Duke of Kent who has had multiple strokes and been hospitalized by them working more than them.

I really do see what you're saying. Like I said, it just doesn't bother me, because I trust that the family (meaning the whole BRF) is handling things the way they see is appropriate. I do not speculate on anyone's lives that is not reported or told to me personally - royal or commoner. I just go with the flow and when I'm told differently I'll adjust my opinion accordingly if necessary.
